The best ideas are rarely found in Harrisburg. More often then not, it is the constituents back home who have it right -- not the legislators. I've set up a message board, of sorts for you to write down your best ideas about what state government should be doing to help make our great Commonwealth even greater. Let your voice be heard. What do you think?"

Referance HOUSE BILL No.1951 P.N.2826

Senator Wonderling;

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. My net income as of January 2009 will be $21,156 per year. My property taxes for the year is $5400. need I say more!
Dan Pont in Richlandtown Borough

Respectfully submitted, please do everything in your power to protect my right to own and operate a firearm in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States (in a non-threatening manner of course). Further protect the ammunition supply and shooting facilities from targeted taxation and elimination by any means.

In short keep us free!

I have just read some of the comments submitted by your citizens about the economic stimulus package. I feel that the responses reflect how desperately we need to change the curriculum in our schools, Please champion a course on personal finance and economics in the high schools. This course should be mandatory. With this educational development, we will have informed buyers of mortgages and a true-understanding of the economic stimulus package and future programs. The children are our future!

I am concerned about the deregulation of the utilities. Haven't we had enough deregulation? We have seen what it has done to our economy. Please do what you can to discourage the governor's attempt to deregulate the power company rates. It would be wonderful if we could trust free competition - but- it seems that greed takes hold and many suffer as a result. When the airlines were deregulated, many small airlines were driven out of business as well as many of the larger companies. The cable companies are out of control with their fees. We simply can't trust these companies to do the best for the people. It would be wonderful to have a free economy - but - it seems that people are by nature greedy and irresponsible.

Thanks for your understanding.

I've heard from many of you recently regarding the current financial crisis. I appreciate hearing from you. Unfortunately, the legislation you are writing about is being debated in the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. and not Harrisburg. As a state Senator, I am not able to vote upon the bill. However, the Pennsylvania Senate is debating what we can do to make sure our fiscal house is in order. If you would like to contact your federal Senators, they can be reached at: U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, 610-434-1444; U.S. Senator Robert Casey, 215-405-9660. Again, thanks for writing.
